Reclaim Your Sexuality Through Boudoir aka Empowerment Sessions!

We can be disconnected from our sexuality for so many reasons. Trauma, humiliation, abuse, body changes, ads, and social media, the list goes on and on. Being separated from our sexuality, our feminine energy, and being uncomfortable in our bodies can be a lonely and confusing place. In today's post, we will discuss ways that you can Reclaim Your Sexuality through Boudoir.

Having Fun.

It may seem simple, but many of us get so busy in life that we skip over this part. When we do have time, other things feel more important to us than ourselves. It is essential that we make time to play. We should aim to be "like a kid in a candy store" from time to time. Dressing up, having your hair and makeup done, and posing like a supermodel is a perfect way to let go of some of those limiting beliefs.

Boosting Your Self Image.

Over the course of your life, you began to chip away at the beautiful woman you are. Most likely, it all started with a simple comment or a joke. After hearing these things for years, believing them became easier. In ads and on social media, "perfect bodies" validated those feelings. As a result of all that self-sabotaging, you lose sight of how YOU truly see yourself. So many times, women have said "that's me?" when I show them images on my camera during their sessions. Seeing this made me realize that they can walk into my studio looking just like they do on my camera, but they don't see it that way. Rather than looking at ourselves through the prism of pain and standards made by the patriarchy, we need to see ourselves through OUR EYES. We need to start seeing ourselves in our truest form.

Connect to Your Feminine Side.

Femininity; noun. Definition: Qualities or attributes regarded as characteristics of women.

No mention is made of breasts, a small waist, having children, being quiet, being submissive, and the list goes on and on. Even if the notion of a "perfect woman" is broadcast everywhere, we should discover our own femininity, whatever that means to us.

Healing.

Seeing yourself, all of yourself, and choosing to start the healing process can be the most powerful thing of all. Allowing yourself to feel the most destructive aspects of yourself assists in transforming them into something positive and stronger. Fear of humiliation, judgement, and pain can be turned into bravery. You can transform the hopelessness you may have felt into empowerment. YOU ARE WOMAN.
